Gabby Todd is a force to be reckoned with in the show pig world
PORTER, OKLA. – Gabby Todd knows that winning doesn’t just happen. Whether it’s in the show ring, on the judging floor, or just in life, it takes hard work and dedication to make an impact. Success is not an accident, it’s the result of long hours, consistency, and a willingness to keep going when things get tough.
Gabby resides in the small town of Porter, Oklahoma, along with her two sisters, two brothers, and parents. The Todd family operates Todd Showpigs, a program built not just on raising high-quality showstock, but also on shaping even higher-quality people. It’s an operation where integrity, work ethic, and a love for livestock are every bit as important as banners and buckles.
When asked about her experience in the agriculture industry, Gabby didn’t hesitate. “Honestly, it’s my whole life. My whole family does it, so obviously I was going to carry it on as well.”
From an early age, Gabby was immersed in the showpig industry From early mornings in the barn, to late nights preparing for sales, and endless hours on the road during show season. What started as a small family operation has grown into something much bigger than they could have imagined.
“We started selling show feed out of a trailer,” she explained, “and now we have a feed store that we own and operate. It takes a village, but really it’s my dad that keeps it all going throughout our operation.”
A sophomore at Wagoner High School, Gabby is deeply involved in FFA. She livestock judges, participates in speech contests, and takes part in other chapter activities that allow her to grow her skills and leadership. Her path in judging began with a single conversation that changed her trajectory.
“It was really when Ray Pell asked me if I would want to come to Wagoner that my judging career took off,” she recalled. “That was probably the coolest thing in my FFA career; moving schools so I could judge on a team and with a coach that wanted to win.”
But her judging career wasn’t the only thing that took off after that move. “After being in my sister’s shadow for so long, when she graduated, I realized I had to step up,” Gabby said. “That’s when I really started to have some success in the show ring.”
Gabby exhibited Breed Champion York Market Hog at the 2025 Oklahoma Youth Expo, Breed Champion Duroc Gilt at OYE in 2024, and racked up numerous other wins across the country, including the Arkansas State Fair.
Her day-to-day routine in the barn is a perfect example of her commitment. During the height of show season, she’s in the barn every single day walking pigs, washing, brushing, and conditioning hair to perfection. She believes in leaving nothing to chance, and when she steps into the ring, there’s no denying that her preparation shows.
“It’s a lot of work, but I love it,” she said. “Every show is a chance to get better and learn something new.”
For Gabby, success isn’t measured only by her own wins, it’s about the legacy of the Todd program. One of her proudest moments came from a boar named Wild Time, purchased from Steele Showpigs.
“After we really built up our sow herd, we bought a boar named Wild Time from Steele. He started producing some major winners at San Antonio, but he really took off after OYE,” she explained.
Wild Time sired the Grand Champion Market Hog at the 2025 Oklahoma Youth Expo, a pig that was also raised by the Todds. The excitement didn’t stop there either, after OYE, they sold Wild Time at The Exchange for $475,000 to Premium Blend Genetics, marking a major milestone for their operation.
In the summer, the Todd family hardly slows down. Sale season means long road trips across the country, scouting pigs from top breeders, and making buying decisions that will shape the next year’s show string. Gabby is an active voice in those decisions, her eye for quality has only increased through years of judging and showing experience. It’s not just about finding the next champion, it’s about selecting animals that fit the Todd program’s vision for soundness, build, and market appeal.
Gabby’s journey in agriculture is still just beginning, but her drive, work ethic, and competitive spirit have already made her a force to be reckoned with in the showpig world. Her story is one of family tradition, personal growth, and a deep love for the livestock industry. With each season, she continues to write new chapters of success both in and out of the ring.
