Location: Rose Bud, Ark.
History: Though Bart Sherwood already had a business, Sherwood Wholesale, in 2006 he went to a farm show and talked to a representative of Branson Tractors, and made a decision to become a dealer. In 2007 he added Bad Boy Mowers, and then the business saw real growth in 2009. At that time a new building was constructed and a new business was created, Sherwood Tractor. In 2010, a Mahindra Tractor dealership was added, and sales have been good.
Products and Services: Sherwood Tractor is a community based retail sales and service business for farmers, homeowners, contractors and construction companies. They offer Mahindra, TYM tractors, Bad Boy mowers, Husqvarna, STIHL, and MTV (multi-terrain vehicle) products and services. This business is partially successful due to the quality of people working at Sherwood Tractor. Bart said he has a really good parts man, Rich Earnie, a top mechanic, Phillip Wellman, who has been in the agri-business for 20 years and mechanic Robin Bush, who is the only Mahindra certified female mechanic. Jeanie Shelburne is the office manager.
Sherwood Family: The Sherwood family consists of Bart, his wife, Lorra, and their nine children ranging from 8 years old to 26 years old. It’s Bart’s hope for some of his children to be involved.
