Searcy Co. Equipment
Owners: Phil Reade and wife, Cathy.
Location: Marshall, Ark.
History of the business: Searcy County Equipment Company has been in operation since 1970, first under the ownership of Hubert Peterson. In 1980 James Hubbard bought the business, and Phil Reade was the manager, “In 1993 I purchased the business from James Hubbard,” Phil said. “We realized we needed more room for the growing amount of parts, service area and display of equipment, and in 1999 we put up our new 60×100 building on a 3-acre tract of land here on Factory Road.”
Products: Searcy County Equipment offers a wide range of equipment, including tractors, loaders, rotary cutters and haying equipment. The goal is to continue providing good products at a good price. “Our main lines are Massey Ferguson, Bushhog and Krone,” Phil said, “as well as parts for Hesston, Tye, New Idea, Farmhand, Westendorf, Agco, Agco-Allis and Deutz. Also, we have many other brands of aftermarket parts.”
Services: “We’re dedicated to taking care of our customers. If I don’t have what a farmer needs, I can order just about anything they ask for. Our main objective is to keep our customers equipment running properly and in the field. For anyone living too far away, we can ship parts, saving the farmer time and money. We also offer pickup and delivery at a reasonable cost, and we sometimes make service calls to the farm.”
