Owner: Daniel Dueck

Location: Miami Oklahoma (Ottawa County)

History: Daniel Dueck has worked much of his life in the construction trade but a few years ago, he started his own business Oklahoma Cow Catchers, which involves gathering and working cows. More recently, he has become a dealer for electric fencing. He’s co-owner at Fairland Equipment Rental, which has been in operation since  November 2024.

Services and Products: “We provide emergency services to anyone who needs it in terms of gathering bulls out of a herd, rounding up cows that have gotten loose, or a wild critter that just can’t be caught,” Daniel explained exactly what he does. “We then put them back where they belong. That might be taking them to the owner’s property or hauling them to the sale barn.  We had a call recently on some wild cows that needed to be rounded up and then they also had three bulls that they needed brought up by the house. We just never know.”

He continued. “We also gather cows to work them or so that the owner can do that. I work cows for people as well as preg check cows. I’m not a veterinarian. I just do this based on my experience. I do that and do vaccinations. I’ve probably done preg checks on at least 500 cows over the last few years and that number continues to climb. I have a portable corral so I can gather cows and have them ready to work. I also have a stock trailer to haul them wherever they need to go.

“My dad, Peter Dueck always had cows when I was growing up here on a farm also in Ottawa County. I always liked working around the cows so this works out well for me.”

Daniel is also working in the electric fencing industry these days as rotational grazing continues to become more popular. “I supply electric fencing supplies through the Power Flex Fencing Company.”

In addition Daniel rents agricultural and construction equipment such as floor scrapers, skid steers, cattle trailers and panels.

Future Plans: Daniel and his wife, Kaitlyn are the parents of one and a half year old, Tony and will be parents again very soon. “My dream has always been to be a rancher with my own farm but of course, that takes a big investment. After working in construction for years, I got started in the cow catching business four or five years ago.”

With cow catching and equipment rental, Daniel hopes to be able to become a rancher in his own right one day soon, watching his kids grow up on a farm just like he did.
