Who is the most influential person in your life?
“My grandpa Jim West is probably the one. He has taught me a lot and is the one I go to if I need to talk to someone. I especially liked feeding cows with him when I was little.”
What is your current involvement in agriculture?
“I show pigs and help take care of our herd of 300 momma cows. I also hay in the summer. My favorite memory happened in 2010 when I won reserve breed champion for my show hog. I like horses the best because I like riding and roping. I go to jackpots which are competitive roping events where I can win money.”
What do you like to do when you hang out with friends?
“We drive around in the mud with my jeep and go coon hunting. My three coon dogs are my favorite possessions. Their names are Cricket, Deets and Rage.”
What advice would you give to younger kids interested in agriculture?
“They need to stay with it no matter what. Parents sometimes get really hyper when you show, but you need to stay with it anyway. It is worth it in the long run.”
