L&S Feed and Supply
Location: Westville, Okla.
Owners: Blake Littlejohn (pictured below) and Todd Snyder
History of the Company: Blake and Todd were dairymen who wanted to make their own feed. As a result they bought a feed store 13 years ago to custom make feed for their own operations. News of their plan spread, and soon other people wanted custom feeds too. The next move was obvious: the birth of L&S Feed and Supply six months after purchase of the facility. About a year later and after repeated requests from other potential customers for standard feeds, Todd and Blake became dealers for Purina. A second location with the same products and services has been open in Chouteau, Okla., for the last three years and is doing well.
Services and Products: L&S Feed and Supply custom makes feed and is a dealer for both Purina and ADM, though most of the ADM business is show feeds. The store carries vet supplies and many plumbing and hardware supplies. It also has Deweze hay beds and cattle limiters to manage feeding. In addition, they sell minerals and seed of all kinds from crop seed to garden seed.
Future Plans: L&S Feed and Supply watches the industry and their clientele carefully. As in the past, it will change as needs and interest change. Currently Blake and Todd are planning to move from complete rations to commodity blends, which use byproducts from distilleries such as ethanol facilities to make feed.
