County: Madison County, Ark.
Owners: Ruth and Jim Jones
History of the Business: Ruth Jones started the business in 2020 in Springdale, but in 2025, she and her husband, Jim, built and moved to a brand-new sale barn in Hindsville, Arkansas. The grand opening in mid-December had more than 1,000 visitors and the first cattle sale had almost 1,400 head of cattle.
Products & Services Available: Farmers Regional Sale Barn is a full-service livestock sale barn, helping customers to catch/pen, load, haul, unload and sell livestock. The barn also has a veterinarian on site to check cattle and offer services of aging, pregnancy checking, castration, banding, de-horning and testing. Their veterinarian is available on sale days to treat other animals besides the ones for sale, by private arrangement. All pens are under roof and all livestock have access to automatic waterers. Overnight livestock have access to hay. Easy unloading, free parking and sellers can pick up same-day payment checks.
The barn primarily sells cattle, but they also sell sheep, goats, ponies, pigs and exotic/alternative animals. Cattle sales are Mondays at noon and unloading hours for cattle are 9am-9pm on Sunday and 7am until the end of the sale on Monday. Small animal sales are typically the first Saturday of every month. Exotic sales are typically twice a year in April and October.
Future Plans: The barn is still in the building process, and everything is new and still needs checking and adjusting. The Sale Barn Café is officially open for business serving American food with an emphasis, of course, on beef. Current plans for the restaurant are to be open daily for breakfast and lunch.
Livestock plans include pre-vac sales, special breed sales and horse sales. The barn hopes to be able to serve the community by providing a meeting place for businesses, organizations and family gatherings.
Business Philosophy: Striving to get the highest prices for their selling customers and the best value for their buying customers. They pride themselves in treating their livestock humanely and their customers with fairness and kindness.
