Hometown: Checotah, Okla.

County: McIntosh

Family Members: Husband, Jason and Daughter, Jade

In Town: I am a Registered Dietitian and International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant with the Oklahoma Department of Health. I have been employed with the health department for 25 years and my current position is nutrition supervisor for District 7 in Eastern Oklahoma. I also provide nutrition education and lactation support for the WIC Program participants.

In the Country: My husband, daughter and I run a heard of registered cattle consisting of Simmental, Shorthorns, Maine-Anjou, Chianina and Angus breeds. These cattle are bred for the purpose of raising show cattle for 4-H and FFA exhibitors, as well as replacement breeding stock. We own 105 acres and lease another 220. We also raise show goats and have BEST Champ Goat Camp at Connors State College where we teach students how to fit, feed, and improve their showmanship skills with their show goats.

What I enjoy most about being involved in agriculture and living on a ranch is helping my daughter with her show cattle and goats. We spend a lot of time working on showmanship for both species. I love being able to watch her in the ring with her livestock on all levels.
