History: Williams Supply Outpost will soon celebrate its one-year anniversary in Ava, Mo.

Manager Amber Levelle said Mountain Grove, Mo., veterinarian Dr. Logan Williams opened the store in November 2022 as a service to pet and livestock owners in the area.

“He wanted to expand the reach to his clients and wanted to make things more available to them,” Amber said.

Products and Services: Williams Supply offers a variety of items for livestock and pet owners.

They carry bagged livestock feed manufactured by various companies, as well as a large selection of animal health supplies, vaccines, fly control, and extensive line of Safeguard products.

“Whatever you would need for livestock, you can find it here,” Amanda said.

For the horses, there are apple wafers and bedding pellets

For the pet owners, there is food from Valu-Pak, Diamond and Taste of the Wild.

There are also pet vaccines in stock, and a small selection of pet supplies, such as dog toys, collars and food dishes.

“We also carry garden seed and seed for wild birds,” Amanda added.

Human customers aren’t ignored at Williams Supply Outpost.

“We have USDA-inspected beef,” Amanda said, adding that the beef is from Williams’ beef herd. “People like it because it’s farm-raised, local and fresh. It’s small business supporting small business.”

Customers can also pick up TrueTimber camo clothing, and Big Country and Little Buster toys. Amanda added that toys can be ordered.

Space is sometimes an issue at the store, but if a customer is looking for a specific product that’s not in stock, Williams Supply Outpost will order it.

“If it relates to an animal and it’s not on back order, I can usually get it,” Amanda said.

Business philosophy: “I try to provide good customer service,” Amanda said. “I want to answer their questions, even if they don’t buy something. That’s something that’s important.”

Future Plans: Amber said the first year has gone very well for Williams Supply Outpost, and there could be some growth and added services in the future.
