What is your involvement in agriculture?

“I judge beef cows, swine, sheep and goats. I raise beef cows, Angus. We ween cows every six months. I have to feed cows, six mommas and six babies, every morning before sunrise and every evening after sunset.”

What is your favorite part of living on a farm?

“Being able to help my community and neighbors, like fixing fences or moving cows. Me and my family go and help.”

What are your future plans?

“I want to be a large animal veterinarian. I’d like to go to school in Missouri for that.”

What is the best advice about agriculture you have received?

Logan’s father and grandfather told him: “Don’t count your chickens before your eggs hatch.”

He explained, “We had cows that I was planning on calving and some of them didn’t calf. It helped me learn.”

Awards: “I won one horse buckle for equine judging.”
