Ingredients:

• 2 C sugar

• 1 C light syrup

• 1 C cold water

• 1/4 tsp salt

• 2 C raw peanuts

• 1/3 C butter or margarine

• 2 tsp baking soda

• 1 tsp vanilla

Directions:

Put first three ingredients into a large (cast iron) skillet. Boil syrup until it spins a thread. Remove from heat. Add 2 C raw peanuts and 1/3 C butter or margarine. Cook until golden brown, stirring constantly for 5 to 6 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in 2 tsp baking soda and 1 tsp vanilla. Pour while still foamy onto a buttered cookie sheet (I don’t spread mine). Let cook and break into pieces.
