6 slices buttered bread, torn into bite size pieces   

3 eggs, slightly beaten

2 1/2 C milk

1 tsp salt

1 tsp dry mustard

1/4 tsp paprika

1 pound cheese, grated

Pepper to taste


Preheat oven to 300. Grease 13-by-9 dish. Put broken up bread evenly in the baking dish, alternating layers with the cheese. Combine the milk, eggs and seasonings. Pour over the bread and cheese mixture. Refrigerate overnight. Bake uncovered for one hour at 300 degrees. Can brown sausage and mix in with bread and cheese. Cook’s note: This dish is great for Thanksgiving or Christmas but WARNING it is rich and you can’t eat just one helping.
