Charles and Carla Keith
In Town: Charles “Charlie” Keith is the operations manager and works in the TRM division for WMC Mechanical, Inc., in Springfield, Mo., which performs commercial and industrial services. They range from engineering, construction, HVAC, hydronic piping, installations, modifications, design and demolition. Charlie’s specialty is field repair and tank construction. Charlie travels all over the United States and Puerto Rico for his job. Carla Keith, his wife, chose early retirement to be a stay at home grandma.
In the Country: Charlie grew up in the country on a small farm that his father owned and operated. He got most of his farm experience working for other farmers in the area as a farm hand.
Charlie’s brother Lloyd Keith owns LGK Upholstery just outside of Bolivar, Mo. He has a couple of different parcels of land near Bolivar and just so happens to have a few head of cattle on them. Lloyd agreed to let Charlie keep a few head on his property. It’s a great set up for now, but Charlie and Carla are more than ready to find a place with some land with their cattle just right outside the door.
Future Plans: Their plans are to continue to breed their cows back and grow their herd. They are happy with the mix that they have. They have some Gelbvieh, some Angus and with a Beefmaster bull they feel that they should produce quality calves that will not only be healthy but should be easy calving as well.
