Arkansas Beef Ambassadors: Both Katie and Sara competed in the Arkansas Beef Ambassadors competition. Sara placed first and Katie placed second in the youth division, as a result the girls are now advocates for the beef industry. “We go out into the community and speak about the importance of beef,” stated Sara.

Why are you interested in agriculture?
“Our mom and dad are involved in the nutritional aspect of agriculture,” explained Katie.

What do you want other youth to know about agriculture?
“It’s not just a bunch of people from Arkansas who have animals and accents – it’s about people all across the U.S. I would tell them to think about what you are eating and the story behind it and be thankful for farmers,” stated Katie.
“Beef is healthy for you but you should know that there are different types. Beef is wholesome, nutritious and safe so you don’t have to worry about that when choosing your type of beef products,” added Sara.
