Murray’s Hen Hoops

Location:  Seymour, Mo., in Webster County
Owner:  Murray Schrock

Products:  “Our chicken coops are engineered to be long-lasting and low-maintenance. We try to make them easy to move to keep your chickens on green grass. In the composite hoops, I have five basic models. I will also work with people however I can to make a custom product for them. There are options of fully insulating them, putting electricity to use them for brooders, wheel kits if you don’t have a tractor or four-wheeler to pull them. We are trying to make it work for everybody.”

What makes the hoops so convenient?
You can do this on small acreage or even a backyard. I have hoops small enough for a small backyard where you can move them around and keep them from tearing up your yard. The chickens also fertilize your yard.”

History:  “We had chickens in a pen and when we would let them out they became vulnerable to dogs and other predators. I tried to think of something to put out in the field that I could move with the four-wheeler. It started when I built one for myself and set another one out here by the road. We kept upgrading and improving the product and eventually went to a website. It has been three years since I actually built the first one.”

Business Philosohpy:  “Build a good product for a reasonable price, something that is durable, something you can stand behind. In all our work we build something that we can be proud of and stand behind, something that is serviceable and will last. We also provide good service.”
