What is your involvement in agriculture? My involvement in agriculture started the day I was born. My dad was an ag teacher in Eastern Okla. for fifteen years and has been heavily involved in the livestock industry his entire life. I have competitively exhibited cattle and goats on a state and national level. My personal cattle herd consists of 25 retired show heifers and 2 retired show bulls. I am also a 49% owner of Jade Ag LLC, which is an agriculture-based LLC that deals specifically with show cattle and goats for 4-H and FFA students.

What is your favorite part of being involved in agriculture? The people I have met and the connections I have made and memories that I share with people who have the same passion for agriculture as myself. Because of agriculture I have found the career path that I want to follow and met the people that can help me get started in that career. My dad always tells me, “Show livestock and make friends.” Some of my fondest memories and best friends have been made because of showing livestock. I have been fortunate enough to serve on the Oklahoma Junior Shorthorn Association Board of Directors, which has helped me connect with many other Shorthorn showmen and breeders.

What are your future plans? When I graduate high school, I plan to judge livestock on a collegiate level. I hope to major in Ag Communications, and then go on to law school at Texas A&M University to attain my Agriculture Law Juris Doctorate. I hope to eventually work for the Intertribal Ag Council, where I can represent Native American farmers and ranchers like myself.
