What’s the history behind the store?
“The Clarksville Feed and Supply has been here for 30 or 40 years,” said Terry. “We ran a feed store in New Mexico for a while, when we moved down here the man that had it for sale was ill, so it seemed like the natural thing to buy this one and run it.”
What products and services does the business offer customers?
“We have a little bit of everything, for hobby farmers mostly. However, we cater to the Horse and Dog market really,” said Terry. “We have 15 different horse feeds and about 50 varieties of dog foods. The store carries a variety of tack and tools. The other money maker for us is lawn and garden, we supply garden seed in bulk we have four different scoops, and we have plants of all kinds in our greenhouse in the spring.”
Motto: The golden rule – to treat your customers like you want to be treated. Terry said, “Anytime you run a business according to God’s plan it’s going to be a success.”
What is your business’s mission?
“My mission is for this store to continue to be a successful business, so that I can hand it down to my son-in-law and daughter, then hopefully my two grandsons will take it over and run it, and keep it a family owned business,” explained Terry.
