In Town: Megan works as a lead teacher for two- and three-year-old children at a five-star rated daycare.
“I focus on early childhood development and creating a nurturing learning environment.”
Jerrod works as a lab technician at Nestle’ Purina, bringing a strong scientific and analytical background that compliments the understanding of animal nutrition and care on the farm.
In the Country: “We operate a diversified family farm situated on about 25 acres. Our livestock and production focus include maintaining a flock of backyard poultry, keeping horses, raising and caring for show cows on a daily basis and tending to a large garden. We actively market and sell our farm-fresh eggs, livestock and fresh garden vegetables locally. Our primary goals for the operation are to raise healthy, well-conditioned animals and produce quality crops, maintain sustainable daily farm management practices and provide an environment where our three daughters can learn.”
What do you enjoy most about farm life? “What we enjoy most is the unique lifestyle it provides for our family and the deep, daily connection we share with the land and our animals. Whether we are working in our large garden, tending to the poultry flock, working with the horses or caring for our show cows, every day offers a meaningful routine. Most importantly, I cherish working side-by-side with my fiancé; and our three daughters, watching them grow up learning the traditions of farming, stewardship and a strong work ethic.”
