History of the business: The Mill itself has been in business for decades. It was before, known as Marshfield Mills Inc.. The previous owners were ready to retire and the new owner, Danny Leighter, was ready to hit the ground running towards the family’s next chapter in life. “Our family bought it in September of 2023 and never skipped a beat in the transition of becoming Old School Milling,” recalled Haley Cooley
What are the products and services offered? Old School Milling offers a variety of quality feed for all species of livestock. They have bagged feed on the floor so customers can pick up as much as needed from a bag to a couple of tons. They also deliver feed in bulk straight to the farms. Minimum of one thousand pounds or one could get multiple tons. For an additional discount customers have the option to schedule to pick up feed themselves in bulk as well. “We pride ourselves on having the ability to manufacture and provide feed within 24 hours or less when requested,” Haley said.
What are some of the most popular products and/or services offered? One of the most popular services offered is custom feed mixing. Old School Milling will mix custom equine, poultry, cattle, or any other livestock species feed that a customer could want. They offer their custom mixes in bags or bulk for customer pickup or delivery.
Future plans: “Our future plans are to build the Old School Milling name and open a storefront in Grovespring, MO right off Hwy 5. This storefront and warehouse will carry all our top selling bag feed rations for customers in the nearby area to pick up. We are not sure when an opening date will be set, but will be looking forward to serving the extended rural community.”
Business philosophy: The motto at Old School Milling is ‘Feed the Finest’. “We believe business is built on trust, hard work, and taking care of your neighbors. We pride ourselves on building friendships with our customers. Our team does their best to create and deliver a product that they would be happy to feed their own animals. The relentless ‘can do’ attitudes that our staff carries, I believe shines through and is seen by all. Which in turn gains the trust our customers have in us. They are always willing to go the extra mile to make sure our customers can ‘Feed the Finest’ to their animals.” Haley concluded.
