What is your involvement in agriculture? “My involvement in agriculture started at a young age. I began showing pigs at 4 years old and have ever since. Throughout elementary and middle school I was an active member of the Fairland 4-H Club and served as President four years in a row. I joined the Fairland FFA Chapter in 8th grade and have been active in showing pigs, serving as a chapter officer, and competing in Livestock Judging and Shooting Sports. I am currently Chapter President and enjoy sharing my passion for agriculture with younger members.”
What is your favorite part of being involved in agriculture/living on a farm? “The experiences and life lessons it gives you whether it be working in the hay field with my grandpa, feeding cows, or raising my show pigs. I truly believe there is no other industry that develops young people to better themselves and grow.”
What are your future plans? Do they involve agriculture in some way? “My future plans are to get my certifications and become a Career Fireman. I recently completed my Fire Fighter 1 certification. I want to stay involved in the agriculture industry through raising showpigs and owning a farm of my own one day.”
