• 1 egg

• 1 C sugar

• 1 tsp baking soda (dissolved in 3 Tbsp sour milk)

• 1 tsp nutmeg

• 1/4 tsp salt

• 1 Tbsp shortening

• 1 C cooked gooseberries

• 1 tsp cinnamon

• 1 C flour

Bake at 350 degrees in a greased and floured 8×8 pan until done.

DRESSING

1 pint milk

2 Tbsp flour

1/2 C sugar

Cook until thickened, then pour over pudding
