• 1 1/2 C flour
• 1 C sugar
• 1 tsp baking soda
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 3 Tbsp cocoa
Sift together into an ungreased baking dish (7 1/2 by 11). Smooth off and make three holes.
In hole one, add 1 Tbsp vinegar
In hole two, add 1 tsp vanilla
In hole three, add 5 Tbsp melted butter
Pour 1 C cold water over and mix thoroughly.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
Note: I’ve had this recipe since the late 1940s, early 1950s and it is very good.
