• 2 C flour

• 1 Tbsp baking powder

• 2 Tbsp sugar

• 1/2 tsp salt

• 1 stick butter

• 1 egg

• 1/2 C milk

• 1/2 C dried cranberries

Icing

• 1/2 C powdered sugar

• Juice from a fresh-squeezed lemon

Mix dry ingredients together and cut in butter.  Add dried fruit.  Beat egg and milk together and mix with dry ingredients in a large bowl until a ball forms (do not over mix – it’s best to have chunks of butter in the dough).  Pat dough into a flat circle about 1/2-inch thick.  Cut with pizza cutter into 8 pie-shaped pieces.  Bake on a rimmed cookie sheet at 400 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes.  Drizzle with icing. Note: This can also be used as a savory scone recipe.  Simply remove the sugar from the ingredients list and add another 1/2 tsp of salt.  Add cheese, bacon, jalapenos, olives and fresh rosemary for a yummy savory alternative.
