OFN Staff Favorite

• 1/3 C cocoa

• 2 C sugar

• 1 1/4 C flour

• Pinch of salt

• 2 sticks butter

• 4 eggs

• 1 tsp vanilla

• 1 C pecans

Cream butter and eggs, add vanilla. Sift all dry ingredients together until well blended, then add to the butter and egg mixture. Add pecans. Pour into a greased 9-by-13 pan, bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Note: Cake will rise, but then fall when removed from the oven.  

TOPPING

• 1 pint marshmallow cream

• 1 stick melted butter

• 1/3 C evaporated milk 

• 1 tsp vanilla

• 1 pound powdered sugar

While cake is still hot from the oven, top with marshmallow cream and let cool. Mix remaining ingredients well and top the cooled cake.
