What is your involvement in agriculture?

“I’ve shown goats, sheep and rabbits, and have done poultry showmanship. I like to plant fruits, trees, and vegetables. My 4-H project is horticulture, and I’m the junior vice president of my 4-H club.”

What is your favorite part of being involved in agriculture/living on a farm?

“My favorite thing is getting to plant something and watch it grow. I think it’s fun and relaxing. My favorite plant that I’ve grown is watermelon, and I’m planning to plant another tree. I’m also planning on growing my own Bonnie cabbage so I can compete in the Bonnie Plants Third Grade Cabbage Program.”

What are your future plans?

“I want to be a 4-H agent, like my county agent, Araceli Oswald.”

What is the best advice about agriculture you have received from adults?

“To take my time, let my plants grow, set them in the sun, and to follow instructions carefully. Miss Williams taught me that. She’s my reading teacher, and the club leader for my school’s gardening club, Green Thumbs.”

Awards: “I won grand champion in poultry showmanship, reserve grand champion in rabbit showmanship, and grand champion in peewee goats.”
