• 1 package yeast

• 3 Tbsp warm water

• 1/2 C sugar

• 1 C warm water

• 1/2 C shortening

• 1 tsp salt

• 2 eggs

• 4 to 5 C flour

• 1/4 C softened butter

In a small bowl, soften yeast in 3 Tbsp water. Combine sugar, shortening, 1 C warm water and eggs in a large bowl. Add yeast and 2 C flour, beat well. Add remaining flour, beat until smooth. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Roll dough into a circle, spread with softened butter. Cut into 16 triangles. Roll triangles up, beginning with wide end. Place on a greased baking sheet, point side down. Let rise until doubled in size. Bake at 350 degrees until lightly brown, or about 15 minutes.
