1 pound lean ground beef

1 can (16 ounces) baked beans

1/2 C barbecue sauce

2 C Bisquick mix

2/3 C milk

1 Tbsp butter or margarine, softened

1/2 C shredded cheddar cheese (2 ounces)


Brown ground beef until thoroughly cooked, drain. Stir beans and barbecue sauce into the browned beef. Heat to boiling, stirring occasionally. Pour into an ungreased 2-quart casserole dish. In a medium bowl, stir together the Bisquick, milk and butter until soft dough forms. Drop dough by 12 spoonfuls onto the beef mixture. Bake uncovered in 425–degree oven for 18 to 22 minutes, or until topping is golden brown. Top with cheese and return to oven until the cheese is melted (about 3 minutes).
