R-Calf USA (Ranchers-Cattlemen Action Legal Fund) calls for Senate Judiciary Subcommittee to schedule hearing to investigate causes of late 2015 cattle price meltdown.
Bill Bullard, CEO, R-CALF USA wants a formal hearing to determine — was it intentional manipulation of factors possibly by packers and or futures market participants? The historic price collapse of fat cattle rippled down through all classes of cattle with 500 dollar per head losses common. This at a time all forecasts were for high prices throughout 2016.
Bullard will come to Missouri to explain this concern plus other insights as to the state of the US Cattle industry, including COOL (Country Of Origin Labeling), Trade Agreements, Global Sustainable Beef Initiative and the Beef Checkoff, present and future.
In the Ozarks, a meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 16 at the Lebanon Livestock Market, located 17505 Route 66, which is between Lebanon and Phillipsburg.
