After nearly three years I finally found time and a reason to take a vacation. But now I feel as if I need a vacation from my vacation.
A friend of mine won a trip for two on the Blake Shelton Cruise through a local radio contest. Airfare and the seven-day cruise were included in the prize package. So when my friend called to ask if I would be interested in attending as his guest I didn’t hesitate to say yes. What better reason to take a vacation then to spend time on a boat with Blake Shelton?
There were over 20 Country artists performing on the ship including Blake Shelton, of course, Trace Adkins, Neal McCoy, Lee Brice, Jerrod Niemann, Easton Corbin, Randy Houser and a bunch of up-and-coming artists.
It was seven nights of great entertainment followed by days on the beach, artist photo opportunities (I got my picture taken with each one) and artist question and answers. Not to mention the best part, no cell phones, Facebook or emails for seven straight days.
I had forgotten how nice it is to be on a cruise. It has been about five years since I was on one. But I sure got use to someone else cooking my meals, having someone make up and turn down my bed, sitting in the hot tub and swimming at the beach.
This cruise was a little bit different than your average cruise because of the continuous country music entertainment. Every night there were about four shows going on, some nights more.
If this sounds like the perfect vacation for you, start saving now, another Blake Shelton Cruise is in the works for next year. Maybe I’ll see you there.
Best wishes,
