Designed, constructed in 1954-1958, and operated by the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, Table Rock Dam and Powerhouse was created to serve as flood control for the White and Lower Mississippi Rivers and to generate Hydro-electric power from Table Rock Lake. The Dam and Powerhouse have become points of interest for energy conservation fans and history buffs alike.
