The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is now accepting entries for the 2012 Missouri Junior Duck Stamp Contest, which is administered by the Big Muddy National Fish and Wildlife Refuge.  Entries must be postmarked by March 15, 2012.

Omaha, NE, (AgPR), February 14, 2012 – The 2012 American Agri-Women (AAW) Midyear Meeting will be in Nebraska City, NE., Thursday, March 29 through Sunday, April 1st, at Lied Lodge. The AAW Midyear meeting focus will be to discuss current policies and positions under the direction of Anna Morrison, AAW StART (Strategic Action Response Team) coordinator. Speakers, who will present in-depth focus on vital issues facing the agricultural industry, include Dr. Gary E. Sides, Cattle Nutritionist, Pfizer Animal Health, and Melissa Keyes, Nebraska Agricultural Youth Council, University of Nebraska-Lincoln. There will be a panel discussion on animal rights, moderated by Mindy Paterson, AAW Horse Welfare chairwoman.

Students from greater Kansas City area will meet former shooting sports Olympians and learn about careers in the outdoors

Kansas City, Mo. – February 10, 2012 – Pheasant Forever will host 165 high school students from around the greater Kansas City area at its first-ever Youth Conservation Experience and Career Day on Friday, February 17. The event is part of Pheasants Forever's 3-day National Pheasant Fest & Quail Classic being held at the Kansas City Convention Center on February 17, 18 & 19.

Cattlemen’s Association Elects New Directors and Officers

The South Central Cattlemen’s Association held its annual meeting recently and elected new officers and directors.  Ron Gould of West Plains was elected as President, Matt Conn of Mountain View, as Vice-President, and Logan Wallace of Pomona, as Secretary/Treasurer.Directors elected were:  Josh Kenyon of Alton and Diana Pace of West Plains.  These directors will join John Steffensen of Gainesville and John Oravec of Mountain View.

Hereford Champions Named in Fort Worth

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – C Chanel’s Nitro 1027 ET won the champion horned bull title at the Fort Worth National Hereford Show Jan. 30 The champion polled bull honors went to STAR Shock Wave 13Y ET.

The 217-head show was judged by Doug Satree, Montague, Texas. The horned show was dedicated to Bill and Edy Breeding, Miami, Texas, and Bill and Margaret Parham, Stephenville, Texas, were the polled show honorees.
