HOUSTON — Mixing and loading pesticides is one of the most important tasks of a pesticide applicator according to Sarah Kenyon, agronomy specialist with University of Missouri Extension.
“It is important to make sure the correct amount of chemical, adjuvant, and water is added to successfully control the pest,” said Kenyon.
MU Guide 1272 (found online at http://extension.missouri.edu/p/G1272) lists the steps needed to successfully mix liquid and dry pesticide formulations.
However, there is also a smart phone app available to help with the task.
The DuPont TankMix Calculator Application lets a person quickly and easily calculate how much product and water is needed for effective applications based on acreage or spray tank size.
“This app helps you easily calculate chemical needed per tank, product per area, water per area, and volume by volume applications,” said Kenyon.
