Laclede/Camden/Pulaski County USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) Executive Director Darrel L. McCann, announced that the Emergency
Conservation Program (ECP) has been approved for Laclede/Camden/Pulaski County. ECP
provides cost-share assistance for areas impacted by flooding.
The Emergency Conservations Program (ECP) provides cost share to help producers remove
debris and build fences destroyed by the flood. The program is strictly limited to agricultural
land and does not cover losses to any insurable items such as buildings or machinery. Producers
need to contact the office as soon as possible to maintain eligibility for all cost and should
document damage with pictures if they have to make emergency repairs to contain livestock, etc.
A producer must have $1,000 of qualifying cost to qualify for assistance. Assistance will also be
limited to the amount necessary to return the land to agricultural production. Land must be used
for agriculture and livestock is required for fencing practices.
ECP provides financial assistance for up to 75 percent of the cost to implement approved
emergency practices. Applications are accepted now through August 28,2015.
Producers must submit their requests for ECP assistance to FSA prior to beginning any work.
