The American Red Cross of North Central Oklahoma is hosting “A Night with the Red Cross” fundraising event at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, at Wes Watkins Center on the campus of Oklahoma State University in Stillwater.

This event will honor outstanding community partners and donors and Dr. Larry Sanders will be presented with the 2014 Community Hero for Humanitarian Service Award. Entertainment will include music by the OSU Big Band, and a live and silent auction hosted by the OSU wrestling head coach John Smith.

Mary Ann White, executive director of the Central and Western Oklahoma Region American Red Cross, believes this fundraiser allows donors, supporters and partners to see the the local chapter’s daily operations.

“We prevent, prepare and respond to disasters everyday,” White said. “This fundraiser allows us to continue to bring hope to those in need around our community.”

The American Red Cross provides assistance for those in need through disaster relief, health and safety services, aiding American military families, blood donations and much more. Proceeds from this event will directly benefit the American Red Cross of Stillwater.
