In Town: Michelle purchased Angles Hair Salon in Clarksville, Ark., in 2005 but it had been in business for 22 years before that. In March they finished their new building and they moved to their new location at 1310 E Main St.
Clint has been a physical therapist at Johnson Regional Medical Center Outpatient Clinic since 1999. “On his days off he helps with hay. It’s mainly an 8 to 5 job so he can help when he gets home, too,” Michelle said.
In the Country: Clint and Michelle farm with his parents, Larry and Nedra Bacchus. They have their own commercial herd of 10 momma cows. “We also have 75 laying hens through the Poultry Chain, show steers and heifers and three pigs for 4-H. The kids also have their own cows. Drake, 10, has two and Addison, 8, has one,” said Clint.
Why is farm work important to your family?
“Addison was diagnosed with high-functioning autism last summer. There is always something that she can do on a farm. We are using hippotherapy and are in the process of finding a horse so she can do it at home. Animals are a big help with her disability. And, we feel that farming is a good way of teaching our kids to have a work ethic at an early age,” shared Clint.
