The Missouri Dairy Forum and trade show is moving to Springfield January 28-29, 2011 after several years
at Lake Ozark. It will be held at the University Plaza Hotel starting
at 9:25 a.m. on January 28.
“We look forward to being in the heart of Missouri dairy farming and
closer to many of our members,” says Missouri Dairy Association (MDA)
President Larry Purdom of Purdy. “All dairy farmers and allied
industry friends are invited to attend all or part of the Dairy Forum.
“The Dairy Forum brings all together seven dairy organizations
including the MDA, Missouri Holstein Association, Missouri Brown Swiss
Association, Missouri Guernsey Breeders Association, Missouri Jersey
Cattle Club, Missouri Dairy Growth Council and the Sho-Mo Dairy Heifer
Growers Association.
“This is an excellent opportunity for Missouri dairy farmers to get
the latest information, presented by nationally known dairy experts
from Minnesota, Wisconsin and South Dakota, on managing milk quality,
improving herd health and developing feeding efficiencies for their
dairies,” says Purdom.
“In addition, dairy policy development will play a major role in the
Forum’s activities. New dairy legislative initiatives at the State
and Federal levels will be presented and proposed policies covering
these will be discussed by the attendees. With the election of many
new members of Congress it is more important than ever that our voices
be heard.
“We welcome input from all dairy farmers and encourage them to attend
and participate in the many dairy organization annual meetings and
board meetings being held during the Missouri Dairy Forum,” concludes
Purdom.
