How are you involved in agriculture?
“I have had horses my whole life. When I was born, Dad stopped and bought a horse on the way home from the hospital. I still have him. I help out on the farm with the hay, feeding cattle and horses and feeding the chickens. I love being able to walk outside and be right there with my horses.”

What have you gained from your involvement in agriculture?
“I have gained lots of common sense and knowledge and also a sense of pride that you can’t get anywhere else. It also gave me a bond with the animals, nature and my family. I love the aspect of watching all the animals grow up knowing that I helped train them or take care of them.”

Do you have any advice for other young people thinking about getting involved in an ag program?
“I would tell them not to hesitate. Even if they don’t know a lot about farming they will still have fun, learn, make friends that they couldn’t make anywhere else and memories that aren’t replaceable.”

What are your plans for the future?
“I am attending college for Early Childhood Education. I plan to involve agriculture and animals in teaching.”

Who has influenced you the most?
“Dad. He always treated me like the boys. He just threw me out there. He would show me how to do something and just have me pick up where he left off.”
