What is your involvement in agriculture? “I became involved in agriculture because it provided the experience and animal education I was seeking. I started in a general ag class then I completed animal science and vet science in the agriculture pathways. I am now in my second year of vet science and working at a local veterinarian’s office. I started volunteering at the vet clinic at the age of 14, that is where I learned I wanted to further my education in the veterinary field. FFA has helped me accomplish that, thanks to my FFA program I get to start pre-vet classes next fall at Crowder college in Neosho Mo.”

What is your favorite part of being involved in agriculture/living on a farm? “My favorite part of being involved in Agriculture is the amazing experiences it gave me. I always thought I wanted to be a veterinarian but because of my agriculture classes I can firmly say I WILL be a veterinarian. Agriculture is a big part of my life and I love every bit of it!”

What are your future plans? Do they involve agriculture in some way? “I plan to become a veterinarian. I start my pre-vet classes in august at Crowder College in Neosho Mo. After I plan to attend the University of Missouri where I will get my doctorate of veterinary medicine. Agriculture is a huge part of what being a vet is; caring for animals and ensuring their well-being.”
