History: Veterinarian Dr. Charlie Robinson explained that the Warsaw Vet Clinic and Feed store in Benton County is actually part of a triple location veterinary clinic operation. He and fellow veterinarian Dr. Jason Wooderson and other associates also operate the Wooderson Vet Clinic in Bolivar, as well as the Buffalo Vet Clinic. The Warsaw location was started decades ago by Dr. Don Anstaett and they purchased the Buffalo Clinic from Dr. Rusty Waide who still works with them there.

Products and Services: Their Bolivar location is exclusively a large animal veterinary practice while the other two locations serve both large and small animals. Dr. Robinson works in both the Warsaw and Bolivar locations. As a clinic that works with both large and small animals, the Warsaw clinic has veterinary equipment available for large animals including a tilt table chute for foot trims on cattle. They also have the ability to hospitalize and monitor large animal inpatients. They offer breeding services (AI) on cattle and horses and digital x-ray. Their services also include an excellent suite for all small animal needs, such as medical and surgical services.

In their feed store, they offer a full complement of barn cat and dog food, cattle mineral supplements, sheep feed and mineral, salt and mineral blocks, oats, cracked corn, and a full range of chicken feed.

Plans for the Future: Dr. Charlie Robinson explained that the practice of veterinary medicine faces many of the same challenges as those now confronted by the medical profession.

“Whether we can expand to purchase more area clinics will depend on a number of factors, such as how hard do you as a vet, want to work? How many hours? How many young vets can we bring in from other areas who want to re-locate here or better, how many can we find here?”

He continued, “The best situation is to find and keep our own home-grown vets, doctors who want to stay and raise their families here while working here. Getting young vets who are from here or who can re-locate here, then make them our very best ambassadors, convincing more vet students to consider the Ozarks. How many vets we have able to work in our clinics will determine how many more clinics we can add to the three we already have.”
