• 1 pound ground venison
• 1 pound ground pork
• 1 medium onion, chopped
• 2 celery stalks, chopped
• 1 sweet red or yellow pepper, chopped
• 4 tsp minced garlic
• 2 tsp smoked paprika
• 2 Tbsp chili powder
• 1 Tbsp cumin
• 2 bay leaves
• Salt and pepper to taste with Lawry’s seasoned salt and fresh ground pepper
• 1 (15-ounce) can tomato sauce
• 2 (15-ounce) cans of diced or crushed tomatoes
• 1 (15-ounce) can of red kidney beans, drained
• 1 (15-ounce) can pinto beans, drained
• 1/3 C of your favorite barbecue sauce
Brown the meat in a large skillet. When finished, add the meat to a slow cooker along with the remaining ingredients. Stir thoroughly. Cook on low setting for six to eight hours, stirring occasionally.
