What is your involvement in agriculture?
“I live in the country, but not on a farm. I show cattle and have my own heifers at my aunt’s (Debbie Elder). She helped me get started with showing and takes me to all the shows. I also have a horse I love to ride, and she’s trained to do cowboy racing. I enjoy going to showdeos with my horse Ruby.”
What do you like best about being involved in agriculture?
“I enjoy spending time with my animals and being able to bond with them. I enjoy riding Ruby and learning new things on her. I like traveling to all the cattle shows and spending time with my show friends and helping out. My heifer Foxy is really sassy and always gives everyone else a hard time, but she acts perfect for me…most of the time.”
What are your future plans?
“To get better at barrel racing, go to some pro rodeos and do some cowboy racing. Foxy is bred and I’m excited for her to have her calf this fall so I can start my own herd. We just weaned her sister, and I will start showing her this season too. I am also showing some bulls this year.”
Awards: “I have won several champion Beefmaster heifer awards with Foxy and Emory, and last year I won a buckle for junior showman.
