Dumplings:
• 1/2 C milk
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 1 tsp baking powder
• 1 C flour (or enough to make a stiff batter)
Mix ingredients, adding enough flour for desired consistency. These may be dropped from a spoon or rolled out and cut into strips.
Peach:
• 2 C peaches
• 2 C water
• 1/2 C sugar (or more if needed)
Pare and slice peaches. Cover with 2 C of water. Add sugar and cook until peaches are tender. Add more water, if needed, to make lots of juice. When boiling briskly, drop in a few dumplings. When cooked on one side, turn them over and cook until done. Lift from pan into bowl. Add more dumplings to pan. (Canned peaches or blackberries may be used, also.)
