History: JoAnn Jackson and her husband Robert Coleman opened the first C&C Farm and Home store in Bolivar, Mo., in 1970. The store in Lebanon, Mo., was opened 16 years ago. The Clinton store was opened in 2006.
Products: “If you run short on the weekend, we are a good place to go,” said Marty Coleman.
The stores sells a wide variety of merchandise, everything from farm equipment, lawn and garden supplies, fencing, hardware, electric tools and pet supplies, as well as livestock feed. If you’re interested in bee keeping, C & C Farm and Home also carries everything you need to get started. In addition, the store has a large collection of clothing, from basic jeans to more decorative styles of shirts, women’s tops and jewelry, and shoes and boots. A toy section offers model horses, as well as toys for any age child. C & C Farm and Home also sells farm and country-themed housewares and decorative items for the home.
Future: C & C Farm and Home strives to meet the needs of their customers, which can change with the times.
“We’ve seen our business change in the nearly 50 years we have been in business,” Marty said. “We get to know our customers very well. We have several people who began as customers, but now we call them friends instead. From our end, we do look at it as being a help to people when they need things.”
