Oklahoma State University is opening its home football season at Boone Pickens Stadium this Saturday, Sept. 6, at 2:30 p.m. against Missouri State University. Here’s parking information that will help you make your gameday experience more enjoyable.

Changes made to the OSU POSSE Parking areas this year include:

  • The lot located at the Wes Watkins Center, previously designated as North Maverick, is now designated as NW VIP and is accessible via the west entrance on Washington.
  • The North Maverick lot will now be located along the west side of the Sherman Smith indoor practice facility, slightly north of its previous location, and is accessible from the north on Connell from Washington.
  • Pistol Pete parking has been added directly west of Cordell Hall with access from east entrances on Washington. The west portion of this lot will remain Golden Spur with the entrance located at Wehr and Monroe.
  • The lot located on Knoblock, west of the softball stadium, which was previously designated as Pistol Pete is now Golden Spur.

POSSE members are also reminded not to save parking spots for other tailgate partners and not to set up tables, chairs or cookers in parking spaces next to them. Also, for safety purposes, tailgating items cannot block driving lanes.

Parking spaces not designated POSSE parking or controlled/restricted by OSUPD or OSU Parking Services are open for general public parking.

Downtown shuttle use encouraged

The general public is encouraged to park in downtown Stillwater and ride the free shuttle to and from Boone Pickens Stadium. The downtown shuttle stops at 7th and Lewis. It starts making runs to the stadium, every 15 minutes, three hours before the game. The shuttle stops at Boone Pickens Stadium on Hall of Fame and runs every 15 minutes to the downtown parking area for two hours after the end of the game.

Starting this year, the City of Stillwater will also implement a new traffic management plan for home football games. The plan includes changes to signal timing and turn restrictions at key intersections. The restrictions will be installed after the game starts and will be removed approximately two hours after the game ends.
