Oklahoma State University is participating in a national program called Operation Hat Trick (OHT), a co-branded program that generates royalties that go back to support Oklahoma State and the Operation Hat Trick organization, a 501(c)3 entity committed to the recovery, training, and education of U.S. service members and military veterans.
Alumni, fans, and supporters of OSU will be able to purchase officially licensed OSU caps that support the university and American military veterans through proceeds distributed to select organizations that provide direct services to our wounded warriors.
Oklahoma State-OHT caps will be available for sale at the University Store, Bedlam Sports, Chris’ University Spirit, Metro Shoe Warehouse and Pro Images in Grapevine, Texas.
The OHT program was born at the University of New Hampshire to memorialize Nate Hardy and Mike Koch, two U.S. Navy SEALs lost in Iraq in 2008. The original initiative was focused on producing collegiate caps that could be provided to servicemen and veterans that suffered head injuries. This focus and the program’s roots in ice hockey country provided the inspiration for the Operation Hat Trick name. The program has evolved into a national effort with participation by more than 200 universities throughout the country.
OHT caps are produced under license by ’47 Brand, one of the country’s leading collegiate headwear manufacturers. ’47 Brand offers three standard OHT cap styles, including a team color stretch fit style and adjustable camouflage and team color versions.
“We are honored to participate in the OHT program and believe Oklahoma State fans and supporters will want to be a part of this program by buying OSU/OHT co-branded caps,” said director of Oklahoma State Licensing, Kurtis Mason. “We know our fans and alumni both love OSU and appreciate our military, and this program allows them to support both at the same time.”
For more information, contact Mason at 405-744-6238, or Dot Sheehan, OHT Program Director, at 603-862-4677. Retailers interested in carrying OHT caps, should contact Cole Price at CLC at 770-956-0520.
