JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The public is invited to a free nature event at Lincoln University Cooperative Extension’s Alan T. Busby Farm from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28.

“In Touch with Nature” will feature hands-on demonstrations and wagon tours on prairie restoration, bugs, cooking, fish and water critters. There will be presentations by specialists from Lincoln University Cooperative Extension, University of Missouri Extension, the Missouri Department of Conservation and other groups.

Activities include a petting zoo, environmental games and face painting. The Missouri Department of Conservation fish trailer and raptors from MU’s Raptor Rehabilitation Project also will be on hand. Garden tours of native plants will be offered.

Sample foods prepared with native plants will be available free of charge, and burgers and drinks will be available for purchase from local vendors.

The event is sponsored by Lincoln University Cooperative Extension’s Native Plants Program and the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Busby Farm is at 5124 Goller Road, off U.S. Highway 54 in Jefferson City.
