The OSU/A&M Board of Regents today selected an architect and construction manager for the design and construction of a new building for the Spears School of Business on the OSU-Stillwater campus.
Elliott + Associates of Oklahoma City was selected as the architect and Manhattan Construction of Oklahoma City was selected as construction manager for the new facility, which is expected to more than double the size of the current 80,000 square-foot building.
“We are excited to begin the next phase of our building program and are confident these firms will be excellent partners as we create a building that will be a source of pride for everyone connected with the Spears School of Business,” said Ken Eastman, interim dean of the Spears School.
The future state-of-the-art facility is expected to cost more than $60 million and will include the Chesapeake Energy Student Success Center, as well as a naturally lit commons, an outdoor terrace, innovative classrooms, meeting rooms for collaborative student work, incubators to facilitate entrepreneurship, and gathering rooms to encourage cross-disciplinary interactions among faculty and students.
Private donations will provide at least half of the funding for the new facility, with about $30 million committed to date from alumni, friends, corporations and foundations. The ongoing fundraising effort is led by volunteers Jennifer Grigsby and John Linehan.
The new facility is expected to be built on the east side of Hester Drive stretching from Athletic Avenue to Morrill Avenue and will eventually replace the current Business Building and Hanner Hall.
