The shot of an inquisitive young boy learning how to bottle feed a newborn calf is the Best of Show in the 2013 Focus on Missouri Agriculture Photo Contest, hosted by the Missouri Department of Agriculture. The photograph, submitted by Marcy Donelson of Mercer County, was chosen from among the 712 photos submitted by amateur photographers from across Missouri. All the winning photos can be found online at mda.mo.gov.
“Each of these incredible photographs tells a unique story of both our Missouri farm families and our rural communities,” said Director of Agriculture Dr. Jon Hagler. “The talent of these amateur photographers wonderfully showcases the exceptional work and unforgettable spirit found throughout Missouri agriculture.
Photos were submitted in four categories, including The Beauty of the Farm, Faces of the Farm, The Farmer’s Life and The Pride of the Farm.
