Oklahoma State University’s Student Government Association will host the Big Event, a service project for the Stillwater community, on Saturday, April 20 starting at 10 a.m. The Big Event promotes campus and community unity as students come together for one day to express their gratitude for the surrounding community.

“The purpose of Big Event is to give back to Stillwater and to show that the students of OSU truly care about the city where we live,” said JD Chancellor, Big Event Executive Chair. “Students impact the community by going out and serving for Stillwater residents and businesses by raking leaves, trimming trees, or taking care of odd jobs around these residents’ homes.”

The interaction between students and residents and the collaboration throughout the community is what makes the Big Event such a unique project. The connections made between students and Stillwater residents keeps students motivated to continue this work each year with the Big Event.
