Oklahoma State University’s Spears School of Business is one of only four schools in the United States in which 100 percent of the full-time MBA students received jobs within three months after graduation, reports U.S. News & World Report.
All of the full-time MBA students who graduated in 2012 from Oklahoma State who applied for jobs were hired during the three-month time frame, according to U.S. News Short List, a regular series that provides students and parents a way to find which undergraduate or graduate programs excel.
“This report is indicative of what people have been saying for years, that students in the Spears School are receiving a relevant and real world education that prepares them for career success,” said Larry Crosby, dean of the Spears School. “It’s a testament to the quality of our MBA students and the professors in the Watson Graduate School of Management that Oklahoma State was one of only four schools to be recognized with this honor.
“When we say we inspire and engage the student in everyone to dream big, stretch their leadership potential, transform organizations and make a difference in the world, it’s more than just words. It’s how we are preparing today’s students to be tomorrow’s business leaders.”
The U.S. News story, “10 B(usiness)-Schools That Lead to Jobs,” states that data shows an average of 98 percent of 2012 full-time MBA students were employed within 90 days of graduation at the 10 business schools with the highest job-placement rates, including OSU’s Spears School.
OSU is one of 448 schools surveyed by U.S. News for its 2012 survey of business schools and used that data to determine the three-month employment rates of each school’s MBA graduates.
The others with a 100 percent employment rate are the University of Tulsa’s Collins College of Business, Clarkson University and the University of Albany–SUNY.
The Spears School also has received national notoriety in recent months when its Master’s in Entrepreneurship online program was selected as No. 1 in the nation in the rankings of the 10 Best Online MBA Entrepreneurship Programs, as selected by TheBestSchools.org.
Also, the school’s online master’s programs recently were ranked No. 37 in the nation by U.S. News. In addition, the Spears School continues to make improvement in the U.S. News business school rankings – climbing to No. 88 in the 2014 rankings after being No. 97 in 2013 and No. 101 in 2012.
